Gamble away for Clarets' Youth Development

Recently four of our players from the under-14s were selected for an England National Development Course.

The Centre of Excellence is responsible for providing most of the scholars for the club and a lot of work is done by those involved as they search for future first team stars.

Not only that but those involved, along with parents of the youngsters, are involving themselves in fund raising. At a recent quiz night a total of £750 was raised.

The next event will be a Casino Night to be held at the Turf on Friday 28th March in the Executive Suite within the Harry Potts Longside. The evening is being organised primarily by the parents and coaches of the under 11 team and they hope to raise around £2,000 with part of the money being used to send the under 11s to a prestigious tournament in Holland.

The parents are funding the trip that will see the Burnley youngsters play alongside teams from Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord Rotterdam and German club Borussia Munchengladbach.

This is fantastic for Burnley and will be of great benefit to the young players and apart from thanking the coaches and parents we can now help by supporting the Casino Night.

As previously said it is on Friday 28th March in the Harry Potts Longside and starts between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at £10 and this includes supper and currency for gambling with.

The professionally organised event will have up to ten gambling tables for blackjack, roulette, poker and horse racing and if you are feeling lucky then more currency can be bought on the night.

The evening ends with an auction where those lucky winners can spend their currency on a number of items including electrical goods and a signed Burnley FC shirt and ball.

If you are interested in youth development at Burnley then this really is your chance to help by buying a ticket and going along to the Casino Night. Tickets can be bought from Dave Craig, who will also accept offers of auction prizes, and he can be contacted on 07903 206551.

Further details are also available in the Turf Moor ticket office and also in the leisure centre.

Please support them if you can, they are doing so much good work for OUR Football Club.
