John Angus - the first of the Championship side into the Past/Present Players section
The most recent additions are those players who ended their Burnley careers during the seasons 1971/72 to 1979/80 and they include some memorable Burnley names. From the team that won promotion and went on to have two successful seasons in the top flight including an FA Cup Semi-Final appearance, there's Paul Fletcher, Frank Casper, Colin Waldron, Keith Newton and others, not forgetting Peter Noble who signed for the Clarets in the summer following promotion.

It also includes FA Youth Cup winners Eddie Cliff, captain Mick Docherty, Alan West, Eric Probert, Dave Thomas and Steve Kindon along with players such as Billy Ingham and Colin Morris who were part of the youth team that reached the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup in 1971.

There are also names from our teams of the 1960s, such as Willie Morgan and Arthur Bellamy whilst the first of the Championship side is there in John Angus whose last games for the club were at the start of the 1971/72 season.

The section is building up and it is intended that all the post war players will have been added prior to the start of next season, after which begins the even bigger task of adding more information to each one.
