From relegation to two promotions

Last updated : 09 September 2008 By Tony Scholes
That relegation, just a year after the fantastic day at Wembley, was the last time we've suffered a drop and we had four managers - Jimmy Mullen, Adrian Heath, Chris Waddle and Stan Ternent - before we won on that fantastic day at Scunthorpe.

Those five years, from relegation to promotion, have now been captured in our programmes feature. All the league and cup games from those seasons, culminating in that win at Scunthorpe, are there including the special programme for the closing of the Longside amongst many others.

Thos others include the tours to Northern Ireland in 1996 and 1997, along with many other friendly games, postponed games and even the cup tie that was called off when the floodlights failed.

Two promotions I said. Not only have we added these five years but we've also increased our 1946/47 season. Previously there were the FA Cup Semi-Finals and Final but there are now also five league programmes from that season including the 5-0 win at West Ham that clinched our promotion to the top flight.
