Fred's fit and under contract

Dean West - fit and in the squad after signing a new one month deal
Not only that he has also signed another contract that will see him through October. He had hoped for a longer deal but the club are still unable to offer him anything beyond a month currently. That though means he will be available for a further six league games and at least one cup tie provided he avoids any injuries or suspension.

He is not the only player to declare himself fit and assistant manager Sam Ellis said yesterday that everyone is fit and available for selection tonight. That means Paul Weller could win himself a place in the squad after recovering from the groin injury picked up in the last round against Blackpool.

There have been no clues as to which eleven players will start the game but it would be of no great surprise if Stan started with the same eleven who started on Saturday against Franchise and that would mean a line up of:

Marlon Beresford, Dean West, Ian Cox, Steve Davis, Arthur Gnohere, Glen Little, Tony Grant, Lee Briscoe, Alan Moore, Robbie Blake, Gareth Taylor.

The subs would then probably be chosen from: Mark McGregor, Paul Cook, Paul Weller, Ian Moore, Dimitri Papadopoulos and Andy Payton.

Huddersfield have injury problems and will definitely once again be without both central defenders Adie Moses and Eddie Youds who are out with rib and hamstring problems respectively. Their recent absence has seen the Terriers start to concede goals and with Nathan Clarke also out they will once again be served at the back by the reserve team pair of Jon Dyson and Nat Brown.

Another defender missing is left-back Gareth Evans with a knee injury and his place will be taken by former Leeds and Wigan player Kevin Sharp.

They have good and bad news up front. The good news is that Martin Smith has returned to the squad after injury and was used as a substitute in the 4-0 defeat at Oldham on Saturday. However Andy Booth has now collected a hamstring injury and has been ruled out.

Smith had a trial with the Clarets but he is not popular with the Town fans because of his inability to keep fit. It has been injury after injury and he missed last season completely. The former Sunderland and Sheffield United striker has played in five games this season including the previous round in the Worthington Cup.

Mick Wadsworth is expected to name the following starting line up in 4-3-3: Scott Bevan, Steve Jenkins, Jon Dyson, Nat Brown, Kevin Sharp, Chris Holland, Kenny Irons, Danny Schofield, Martin Smith, Kevin Gallacher, Jon Stead.
