Fred wins a place in the top team

Last updated : 18 June 2002 By Tony Scholes

There were six candidates for the right-back (or right hand side of the back four) position and Fred easily saw off the competition by winning 44.7% of the vote. He was way ahead of second place Gary Parkinson who collected a mere 25.2%.

The others were also rans with only Gerry Harrison on 11.8% making double figures. That left Ian Measham with 7.6%, Chris Brass 6.9% and Ally Pickering, who did such a good job as we successfully battled against relegation, in last place with just 3.8% of the vote.

So that's two places filled in the Clarets Mad team of the last ten years and this week we are asking you to choose the left-back. You can choose from Gordon Armstrong, Lee Briscoe, Tom Cowan, Joe Jakub, Les Thompson and Chris Vinnicombe. The voting poll is top right on the front page of the site and will be there until Sunday.

Next Monday we will take a look at the results and give you the chance to select one of the central defenders.

The team so far is:

Marlon Beresford

Dean West
