Frank gets Huddersfield deal

The central defender moved to the Galpharm in February in a loan deal that was with a view to a permanent transfer, but that signing was made whilst Peter Jackson was manager. Since then Jackson has been replaced by former Oldham and Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie and that has left Frank needing to impress again.

I think it is fair to say he has and on offering him a one year deal Ritchie said: "Frank has versatility, lots of experience and fitness. He can play right-back or centre-back and while he may be 35, he has kept himself in great condition and remains a real athlete. You only had to watch him plough up and down the wing for ninety minutes against Leyton Orient last Saturday to realise that.

"He is great in the air given he's not the tallest and he has bags of enthusiasm both in matches and training. Frank has played at the highest level, including the World Cup, but he's a very down to earth type, and he's more than willing to impart his knowledge to the younger lads we have here."

Huddersfield will be getting themselves a very good player for next year, and Frank's popularity at Burnley shone through again only this week when only Graham Branch received a better reception from the Burnley fans at the testimonial. He did a great job for the Clarets, he'll now do the same for Huddersfield.
