Foy in charge

Last updated : 06 November 2007 By Tony Scholes
His last Burnley game was at Stoke early last season when a first minute goal from Andy Gray was enough to give us all three points. Foy had a sound enough game that day and that, to be fair, has been the pattern of his Burnley games over the years.

He's had his moments, he sent off two Palace players on the opening day of the 2003/04 season when we still managed to lose, and he presided over one of the throw one in games, the 6-2 home defeat against Rotherham.

His last Turf Moor appearance was just over three years ago when he refereed the superb 3-1 League Cup win against Aston Villa.

This season he's been reasonably quiet. In 11games he's given out 28 yellow cards, 12 to home team players and 16 to away team players. One of those games was Hull's home game against Chelsea in the Carling Cup when they were beaten 5-0.

I don't envisage any problems with this referee tonight. Mind you I did with the last two and they both had decent games.

Foy will be assisted by Gary Brittain (South Yorkshire) and Gary Stott (Greater Manchester) whilst Football League referee Neil Swarbrick from Lancashire will be acting as fourth official.
