Foy again

There were very few issues in that home win against the Mackems and he was quick, along with his assistant, to give the early penalty. As clear a spot kick as it was there have been some just as blatant recently in games that have not been given.

He handed out three yellow cards in that game but the good news for Burnley was that all three were Sunderland players namely former loan Claret Phil Bardsley, Kieran Richardson and Michael Turner.

Prior to that game his yellow card count was 14 in 5 games but that's now gone up to 21 in 8. He's more recently refereed the Manchester City v West Ham Premier League game and the Championship clash between Derby and Sheffield Wednesday.

Those cards at Burnley are the ones that make the difference between home and away cards. Of those 21, 4 came in the Community Shield whilst 6 have gone to home players and 9 to away players.

There have been no red cards, in fact the last player he sent off was the day before our Wembley triumph. That was Newcastle's David Edgar in their defeat at Aston Villa that condemned them to relegation.

His assistant's on Sunday are Bob Pollock (Merseyside) and Gary Stott (Manchester) whilst Bolton referee Lee Mason will be the fourth official.
