Of the other professionals out of contract, Brian Jensen, Michael Duff, Robbie Blake and Steven Thompson have been offered new deals whilst Graham Alexander has signed a new two year deal with the Club.

There has been speculation that both Blake and Thompson will opt to move on but Jensen and Duff are expected to stay with Jensen, our longest serving player, believed to be very close to penning a new two year deal.

Also leaving Turf Moor are youngsters Ben Hoskin and Jonathan Lund. Defender Hoskin has been on a short term deal after recovering successfully from back surgery whilst goalkeeper Lund joined the Clarets in October following an injury to Brian Jensen.

Of the players leaving Turf Moor today only Caldwell and Jordan have played in the first team, and Caldwell is the latest from the Wembley team to leave the club. Less than a year ago he was lifting the play off trophy.

Personally, I'm not surprised at the players released. Caldwell has struggled with injury whilst Jordan has been out of favour since the signing of Danny Fox. However, I feel both could have been big assets next season and they were not two players I would have wanted to see leave.

On behalf of Clarets Mad I would like to wish all of them the very best in their careers.
