Foster in £100,000 Barnsley switch

Should everything go to plan then Foster will sign a two year deal with Barnsley in a deal that will net the Clarets £100,000, this the second defender sale in the last week to bring in a profit.

Foster has been with us for just over a year, signing from Crewe in the summer of 2006, but his first team chances have been limited and with two new central defenders having signed last week his opportunities this season would likely have been less than they were last season.

His last Burnley appearance was in the Carling Cup tie last week at Grimsby when he played the entire 120 minutes at right back, although he was as close as possible to playing in the reserves on Tuesday at Manchester City, but was withdrawn from the side just ahead of kick off.

If everything goes well for him tomorrow then he should be lining up against us in October when we travel to Oakwell to take on Barnsley in the Championship.
