Former winger will make half time draw

The player in question is Steve Kindon who started his career with the Clarets with a medal in his first season as part of the side that won the FA Youth Cup in 1968. Early the following season he made his debut in a 5-0 hammering at West Ham when still 17 and was soon a regular in the side.

He was leading goal scorer in 1969/70 season despite playing on the wing but struggled with the rest of the side as we were relegated the following season. Early in 1971/72 he lost his place to Leighton James and at the end of that season moved on to Wolves.

He was at Molineux for over five years but answered an SOS from Harry Potts as we struggled at the bottom of the 2nd Division. By now he was playing as a central striker and along with Terry Cochrane on the right wing played a major role in ensuring safety with a superb run towards the end of the season.

He eventually moved on to Huddersfield, helping them to promotion from the 4th Division before a knee injury ended his career.

Steve was just about the quickest player around in the 60s and 70s and his pace and strength would terrorise defences. He might not be quite so quick these days but he will still be guaranteed a warm welcome from the Turf Moor crowd.
