Former loan players on the move

Keith Lowe - signed for QPR
Keith Lowe signed for Queens Park Rangers yesterday in a loan deal that will see him play for the London club right through until the end of the season, whilst Derby goalkeeper Lee Grant is back in the north west with League One club Oldham Athletic.

Lowe joined the Clarets at the end of August, initially on a one month loan, but that was extended until mid-December. Steve Cotterill left us in no doubt that he wanted to extend the loan and said he would be talking to Wolves once we got into the January transfer window.

He had played in 18 games for us, scoring the one goal in the Carling Cup against Barnsley. Nothing happened, despite rumours that he was set to rejoin us last week, and yesterday he signed for Ian Holloway at QPR until the end of the season, ruling out any move for him by the Clarets.

Lee Grant played just the game for us, standing in for the suspended Brian Jensen against Leicester. He spent the rest of the time on the bench up to and including the recent game at Cardiff. Again we would have liked to have kept him but Steve Cotterill said that he was on a big wage and wanted to be playing games, and he is expected to be first choice at Oldham where he will be for the rest of this season.
