Former Claret replaces former Claret

Ally Pickering - takes over at Woodley Sports
They are though very much in the news today after making a managerial change that has seen one former Claret (to use the term former Claret very loosely indeed) depart the post only to be replaced by another who wore the Claret & Blue of Burnley.

Tony Hancock has been in charge for the last two seasons, and not without success. They won the Cheshire Senior Cup, becoming the first North West Counties side ever to do so, and won them promotion to the Unibond League First Division.

They have finished in mid-table in their first season but Hancock has quit the club after having his budget cut for next season and Woodley Sports have wasted no time at all in promoting his assistant, our former full back Ally Pickering.

Pickering has also been there for two years working with Hancock after leaving his previous post as manager of Mossley in controversial circumstances after being the most popular manager ever at Seel Park during his two years in charge.

The former Burnley full back will now hope to continue the form of the last two years and is looking to try and get Woodley Sports into the promotion chase and into the Unibond Premier League.
