Jones joined the West Midlands club in the summer of 2009 having been release by Burnley and in his season and a half there has made 50 appearances, scoring ten goals with all of those goals coming last season.

In is last season at Burnley he enjoyed loans at both Huddersfield and Bradford City and it is his Bradford connection that has brought about this move. He was with them from November 2008 to the end of that season and they were keen to sign him permanently before he opted for Walsall.

The manager at Bradford City at the time was Stuart McCall who has now taken over at Motherwell, and he's quickly made a move to take the now 34-year-old Jones to Fir Park where he could make his SPL debut this Saturday against Hibs.

Jones signed for Burnley in the summer of 2006 and had an excellent first half to the 2006/07 season before being forced out by injury. He returned to form at the end of the season but found it difficult to get into the side in the following season, making just one start. His last appearance came in January 2008 and he spent much of his last season and a half out on loan before being released.
