Flynn in talks

Flynny is not being lined up for the manager’s job though and it is believed that he could be set to return to take charge of youth development of the club following on from the news that Chairman Barry Kilby wants to put emphasis back on that part of the club.

Although it would be difficult ever to re-create the days of the 50s and 60s when youngsters were being turned into top footballers on a regular basis Kilby does want to see major improvements on a policy that has provided only the odd first team quality player for a number of years.

Brian Flynn recently said that he believes in giving youngsters a chance and that is certainly what is needed. The club are looking to move forward to eventually winning academy status, a pre-requisite should we ever reach the Premiership.

Flynn, a product of our own youth system in the 1970s, could be just the person to take charge.
