Fletcher's joins Mears at the top

Steven Fletcher
Fletcher scored the early goal that gave the Clarets a 1-0 lead and in the first half in particular was the outstanding player on the pitch. He certainly didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

He was a comfortable winner for the man of the match polling no less than 45.2% of the vote. That was way ahead of Stephen Jordan who came second with a 13.4% share which was just ahead of Chris Eagles who was third with 13.1% of the vote.

The same two came top of the player ratings with Fletcher again a comfortable winner. Fletcher had a rating of 7.44 out of 10 and that was way ahead of all other players. Jordan himself was well in front of the rest with a rating of 6.52 and goalkeeper Diego Penny, who came on as a substitute for Brian Jensen, claimed third place with a rating of 6.15 out of 10.

Fletcher gets six points towards the Player of the Year, Jordan picks up four points and there is one each for Eagles and Penny. For Fletcher that means a climb to joint top place in the table alongside Tyrone Mears. Jordan's points have moved him up four places to eighth.
