Fletcher set for talks after bid accepted

News broke over the weekend that Fletcher was a target and the news coming out of Edinburgh is that Hibs chairman Rod Petrie has accepted the offer and the player is due at Turf Moor tomorrow for talks and a medical.

Should all go well he could be unveiled as a Burnley player by the time the players go back into training on Thursday.

It is suggested the fee could rise to £3.5 million dependent on certain conditions, but the initial £2.9 million is considerably higher than our previous transfer record established last summer with the signings of Martin Paterson and Chris Eagles.

It could be part of a busy week at Turf Moor as Owen Coyle begins to shape his squad for the 2009/10 Premier League season.
