The Football League confirmed yesterday that our 2013/14 season would kick off with a home game against Bolton as was the case last season, and the last home game is also the same against Ipswich.
This season our first away game takes us to Hillsborough and a date with Sheffield Wednesday and, for the first time since 2007/08 in a Football League season, we'll end it all away from Turf Moor with the final fixture coming against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday 3rd May.
A year ago former manager Owen Coyle stepped out onto Turf Moor on the opening day but there will be no early return for him in the forthcoming season with Wigan not due until Easter Monday, 21st April.
Eddie Howe, back with Bournemouth, is the other former manager returning and he will be here on 9th November with the Clarets facing a trip to Dean Court on 15th February whilst the eagerly awaited first visit to Yeovil's Huish Park will be on 11th January.
As always, the two fixtures Burnley fans will look for are those against Blackburn. Again the home game comes first, this time on 14th September, with the return game at Ewood Park on 8th March.
Boxing Day this year will be away from home for the first time since 2008. We will be at the Riverside playing Middlesbrough. That's followed by a trip to Wigan three days later with Huddersfield visiting Turf Moor on New Year's Day.
