Five top players in tomorrow's game

Andy Gray - Burnley's top player according to the Actim Index
That is according to the Actim Index, which is created from the official data Premier League and Football League. These are a collection of team, player and match statistics and are derived from all the actions that take place during a match, and that includes goals, shots on target, corners, assists, clean sheets, fouls, offsides, passes, tackles, blocks and clearances.

Birmingham's Gary McSheffrey leads the Championship table but Burnley and Cardiff take all but one of the next five places. For the Clarets Andy Gray is in third place, whilst Steve Jones is two behind him in fifth, and for Cardiff Michael Chopra, Riccardo Scimeca and Joe Ledley are second, fourth and seventh respectively.

The other player in the top seven is Luton's Rowan Vine, and making up the top ten are Preston's Simon Whaley and Graham Alexander and Martin Devaney of Barnsley.

The top 100 players are revealed and apart from Gray and Jones the Clarets also have in there Jon Harley (14th), Brian Jensen (19th), Michael Duff (27th), Wade Elliott (35th), James O'Connor (40th), Micah Hyde (53rd) and Frank Sinclair (57th).

Cardiff too have a total of nine players in the top 100 – further indication that tomorrow's game is between two of the top sides in the league so far this season.
