Jock Aird
Only six players have pulled on the Scottish jersey whilst Burnley players. Three of them are currently with the Clarets whilst both Adam Blacklaw and Willie Morgan were capped during the 1960s.

Tomorrow we welcome back to Turf Moor 83-year-old Jock Aird, who played for the Clarets from 1948 until 1955 and played a total of 143 games for the club.

During that time the full back was capped four times by his country, all four coming during a 45 day period at the end of the 1953/54 season. Two of them were friendlies against Norway and he played in World Cup qualifiers against Austria and Uruguay.

Burnley were his only professional club before he emigrated to New Zealand in 1955 and played there for Eastern Union before moving to Australia and turning out for Hakoah.

Jock settled in New South Wales after hanging up his boots but is now on a visit to England. He is looking forward to meeting up again with Jimmy McIlroy, a former team mate, and will tomorrow be a very welcome visitor to Turf Moor.
