First Ireland goal for Pato

Lafferty had already scored, giving Northern Ireland a 2-0 lead after just 19 minutes but Pato replaced him just past the hour with the score by then 2-2. The Irish went behind but then Paterson won his team a penalty which he took himself with just six minutes remaining to finally get off the mark for his country in his 14th appearance.

Sam Vokes was a starter for Wales and in playing tonight became the seventh Burnley player to win a cap for Wales whilst at the club, and also became the 67th Burnley player to play at full international level whilst a Claret.

It wasn't a good night for him or Wales with them losing 2-0 at against Bosnia & Herzegovina in Llanelli.

Three former Clarets also won caps. Gary Cahill was in the England side that beat Italy in Berne and at Hibs Easter Road ground in Edinburgh Danny Fox and Rhys Williams faced each other as Scotland came out on top against Australia with a 3-1 win.

All these caps have been added to the INTERNATIONALS section.
