First Burnley game for Sarginson

Sarginson is in his third season as a Football League referee and tomorrow will be just his fifth game at Championship level. The first of them was just a year ago next weekend when he refereed tomorrow's opponents Watford for the first and only time in their home win against Scunthorpe.

Again, he's a referee I've not seen but he's certainly about average with his yellow cards and in his previous two seasons he's handed out a total 179 yellow and 16 red cards in 59 games.

This season he's kept his red cards in his pocket although his yellow card rate has gone up slightly with 38 in 11 games. Of those 18 have gone to home team players and 20 to away team players.

HIs last outing was the League Two encounter between Wycombe and Lincoln at Adams Park. The game ended 2-2 with five players yellow carded. They were Gareth Ainsworth, Scott Davies and Chris Westwood (Wycombe) and both Luke Howell and Albert Jarrett (Lincoln).

The assistant referees for this game are Simon Clayton (Co Durham) and Matthew (Cleveland) Dicicco. The fourth official is Mark Griffiths (South Yorkshire).
