The 28 year-old Adcock, from Long Eaton in Nottinghamshire, joined the Football League list of referees only last season and his first game was a 1-1 draw between Oxford and Bradford City last season.
He refereed almost exclusively in the lower divisions but did get one Championship game, that between Barnsley and Millwall at Oakwell in January this year. He refereed a total of 33 games last season during which he yellow carded 87 players and sent off six.
This season, he's already refereed seven games. Two of them have been at Championship level. He returned to Barnsley to referee their 1-0 win against Middlesbrough and was also the referee when Hull beat Millwall 4-1 a week last Saturday.
So far, in those seven games, there have been 28 yellow cards and just the one red card. Of those yellows, 15 have gone to home team players and 13 to away team players. The player sent off was Hartlepool's Neil Austin in a 2-1 home defeat against Carlisle.
Adcock's last game came last Tuesday, Stevenage v Walsall in League One. Stevenage won the game 3-1 and the only player carded was home midfielder Anthony Grant.
The assistant referees tonight are Derek Eaton (Gloucestershire) and David Rock (Hertfordshire). The fourth official is Football League referee Phil Gibbs (West Midlands).
