Fifth Burnley game for Booth

Last updated : 10 December 2010 By Tony Scholes
That previous Turf Moor game was over four years ago when he refereed our last game of the 2005/06 season; a 1-1 draw against Luton Town in which Kyle Lafferty scored a late equaliser.

Since then it has been three away games with two of them providing us with two of our last three away wins in the Championship at Bristol City and Plymouth.

He's generally an undemonstrative referee but he did have a reputation for favouring home teams, certainly as far as cards were concerned. Again last season over two thirds of his yellow cards went the way of away team players.

This season it's not the case right now. In ten games he's shown twenty yellow cards with ten each to home and away players and that includes on Leeds player in Paul Connolly who was the only player carded in their 4-1 win at Scunthorpe in October.

His only red card this season was to Brighton's Liam Bridcutt in their 3-1 loss at Hartlepool whilst in his last game there were just two yellow cards, and one of them was a familiar face to Burnley fans. That was in front of the television cameras last week when he refereed Millwall's 3-0 home win against Scunthorpe. The two cards went Scunthorpe's way to Rob Jones and Kevin McDonald.

The assistant referees are Philip Dermott and Mark Heywood (both Cheshire). The fourth official is Michael Denton (Lancashire).
