Tommy Cummings, a veteran of 479 league and cup games for the Clarets passed away in hospital a week last Sunday at the age of 80 just a few short days before a further sad loss for the club with the death of director Ray Griffiths.

Tommy's funeral will be held this morning and prior to the funeral service at Burnley Crematorium the cortege will pass Turf Moor where he played so many games in the claret & blue and where he continued to watch his football.

Football is not the only sport that will be remembering him today. Tommy was a keen snooker player locally and was a popular member of the Burnley Snooker League.

The cortege will pass the ground, on Harry Potts Way, at approximately 11:30 a.m. today and supporters are invited to join the football club staff in paying their respects.

Our thought and prayers remain with his wife Joy, son Bobby, daughter Lesley, granddaughter Lucy and great-grandson Bradley at this very sad time.
