FA receive O'Connor appeal

Most people inside the ground could see no reason why the Burnley player should have joined Jody Morris following the 70th minute incident and manager Steve Cotterill said after the game that the club would ask the referee to look at it again.

Whether Richard Beeby or any of the other officials on duty last night at Turf Moor have looked at it we don’t know but Burnley have put in appeal and it will be heard by the Football Association tomorrow.

Should Beeby’s decision be overturned James will be free to play at Luton on Saturday, if not then he will begin his suspension immediately. This will be a minimum of three games but if the FA consider the claim to be frivolous then they will increase the suspension by one to four games.

Hopefully they will view the video evidence and make the right decision – but they didn’t when Wayne Thomas was ridiculously sent off against Derby so maybe we shouldn’t be holding our breath.

There is no news from Millwall as yet as to whether they will me making any claims. It is almost certainly they will on behalf of Ben May but surely they will accept the suspensions coming the way of Morris and Andy Marshall.
