EXCLUSIVE - Johnson loan deal extended

Last updated : 09 April 2002 By Tony Scholes

We are pleased to be the first Clarets web site to be able to tell you that David Johnson has now signed on loan for the rest of the season and we have just had this confirmed by Nottingham Forest.

The loan extension will cover the play offs we were told by a spokesman for the Nottingham club who also added that we have had to pay a loan fee for his services although he was not prepared to give out a figure.

I'm sure every Clarets fan will be delighted with the news that we will now complete the season, hopefully in mid May with Johnson available to Stan for all the games. Johnson has himself made it clear in the last few days that he would be happy to make this a permanent deal but with Forest demanding loan fees it is now looking unlikely that he would be available on a free transfer.

But for now, and of such importance, he will be available on Saturday and right through until the end of our season and I'm sure Barry and Stan will be taking more than just a look at the situation after that.
