Mark McGregor in action for Blackpool at Dungannon
Mark McGregor played his second game for Blackpool over in Northern Ireland as they beat Dungannon Swifts 3-1 and Macca is playing not at full back or in central defence but as a central midfielder.

He’s now played two games for the Seasiders and could well be in his way to earning himself a contract after impressing manager Colin Hendry in both games.

McGregor had looked all set to join York before the Blackpool offer came up, he had been training with Brassy’s squad previously.

Brassy is certainly trying to fill his York squad with former Burnley players and on Friday in a home defeat against Doncaster Craig Mawson played the first half in goal and Paul Crichton the second half.

Crichts is looking to win a deal there after being released by now Premiership club Norwich but for Mawson it was a last performance. Less than 24 hours later he was lining up for Accrington Stanley in their 2-1 home defeat against Stafford Rangers.

Stanley have had something of a goalkeeper crisis, and this time there were no cries of Premiership trialists being involved, and it looks as though Mawson is all set to sign a three year deal with them. There was still no sign of David May either despite Coleman’s continued claims of talks.

Paul Weller meanwhile was in Rugby yesterday involved in one of two games being played by Luton Town., the other being at Dunstable.

Luton won 3-1 and Weller played the entire second half having come on as a substitute for youngster Stephen O’Leary.

Finally congratulations to Alan Moore who started Shelbourne’s revival this week in Iceland against Rekyavik. They trailed 2-0 with six minutes to go in their Champions League clash but Moore pulled one back with an own goal earning them a draw along with two away goals. It leaves them nicely set up for the second leg this Wednesday.
