Glen Little - set to leave Reading
I would suspect news on Jimmy O is imminent although Coyle said he wasn't giving Unsworth a time limit. "David has been given a bit of time to think over the offer," Coyle said. "However, it would be unfair of me to say he's only got a few more days to give me a decision."

Should either of them decide to look elsewhere they won't be the only former Clarets on the lookout for a new club with Andrew Cole and Jon Harley, who both rejected new deals, leading the way.

Harley's offer was withdrawn after three days when the two parties couldn't come to an agreement, believed to be over contract duration, and rumours continue to persist that his next port of call could be Elland Road but surely that will depend on the outcome of this coming weekend's play offs. If he does opt to go there let's hope he finds himself playing League One football.

League One could be the destination for Cole following news yesterday that he is interesting Southend boss Steve Tilson who is trying to persuade him to sign on a pay as you play deal alongside a coaching role.

Other former Burnley players on the look out for new clubs after being released at the end of the season include Graham Branch (Accrington), Andy Cooke (Shrewsbury), Tony Grant (Chester), Keith Lowe (Wolves), Mark McGregor (Port Vale), Paul McVeigh (Luton), John Mullin (Tranmere), John Oster (Reading), Frank Sinclair (Huddersfield) and Stanislav Varga (RK Sunderland).

Glen Little has been offered a new deal at Reading but looks as though he might move on after four years at the Madejski following their relegation from the Premier League. Glen has missed much of the 2007/08 season through injury. He made just two substitute appearances in April.

Also offered new deals are Matty Heywood at Brentford and Craig Armstrong at Cheltenham. Matty has been with Brentford for two seasons and having won their player of the season award is now considering a new deal. Armstrong is expected to extend his second stay at Whaddon Road.

Marlon Beresford has been told he can find a new club by Luton Town but with a year remaining on his current deal he could opt to stay. He hasn't started a first team game for Luton since Mike Newell departed in March 2007 but made six appearances for Oldham on loan in October and November last year.

Finally Ian Cox. He played regularly for Gillingham last season but left the club in March. However, at the age of 37 he's signed for Rymans League Premier Division side Maidstone United for the new season.
