Ex-Clarets Cork and Knowles on the move

Jack Cork has completed his move to Swansea

The big move has seen Jack Cork, who had a season and a half at Burnley on loan from Chelsea, leave Southampton, who he joined in the summer of 2011, for Swansea in a deal that will see him play for the Swans until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman had given Cork a deadline to sign a new deal or move on and it was always expected he'd take the option of moving to another club.

On completing his move to Swansea, where his dad Alan started his managerial career, Jack said: "I'm glad to get it all down. It was tough because I'd been at Southampton for three and a half years and I had some great memories there.

"It had come to the point where myself and the club had gone as far as we could go. The opportunity of a new challenge at Swansea is something I'm looking forward to. It's a team I've always looked at and admired, so for me to play in this team is a privilege.

His decision to move has been very much come about because of his lack of game time. He's started just five Premier League games this season and Koeman said he couldn't guarantee him a first team place.

It's very similar for Dominic Knowles who has moved to Kidderminster from Burton on a loan deal until the end of the season. He's only made four league starts for the League Two promotion chasers during the 2014/15 season.

Dominic said of the move: "I wasn't getting much game time at Burton so I'm looking forward to playing some football and scoring some goals here.

Cork won't play this weekend for Swansea; that's no surprise given they face Southampton, but Kidderminster boss Gary Whild has said that it is likely Knowles will be involved against Eastleigh tomorrow.
