Steve Davis - in charge at Nantwich
Nigel Gleghorn was manager of the North West Counties League club who finished 13th in the table last season but has moved on to Newcastle Town who ended the season in 6th place.

Gleghorn is already talking about promotion and said on his appointment, “If we are not in the Unibond League within two years, the club will not have to sack me. I will walk away.”

That has left the door open for Davis to step up at Nantwich and he becomes the club’s first ever full time coach. He left Northwich after a disastrous start to last season and moved to Nantwich as player/coach with Nantwich.

One club saying farewell to the North West Counties League are Woodley Sports who have won promotion to the Unibond League for the first time in their history.

In charge at Woodley is a former Burnley player who hardly impressed during his short stay at Turf Moor – Tony Hancock, a Frank Casper signing from Stockport.

There could also be a first ever coaching role for Neil Howarth in the Unibond with new club AFC Telford who have been formed following the demise of Conference club Telford United for whom Howarth was playing last season.

Finally, and still in the Unibond, Ashley Hoskin has made his first signing as Rossendale United manager. He has signed former Burnley youth player Chris Clark from Vince Overson’s club Ramsbottom United. Clark was a youngster at Burnley when Hoskin was in the first team.
