Ex-Claret could be set for La Liga

Deportivo have just knocked Irish club Shelbourne out of the Champions League and there are strong suggestions that Depor coach Javier Irureta was so impressed with Alan Moore on the left hand side of midfield that he is set to try and sign him.

The Spanish club are known to be looking to strengthen on the left hand side with Argentine star Andres D’Alessandro, currently with Wolfsburg, the number one target.

But Wolfsburg are keen to hang onto their player and it looks as though Irureta is set to turn his attentions to Moore, released by the Clarets in May, after he turned in two excellent performances in the Champions League tie despite being sent off in the second.

Irureta said, “He would be an interesting player for our team,” when asked about the interest in Moore and it would now come as no surprise if he was to make an offer for him before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Moore is believed to be settled back in his native Ireland, and it could be that he would not want to move again even if the offer did come.
