End of an era for Jimmy

Jimmr Robson scores in the 1962 FA Cup Final
Jimmy had been back with the Clarets for six years after moving from Rochdale to join Stan Ternent’s coaching team in the summer of 1998 following the departure of Chris Waddle.

He arrived with Mick Docherty as Alan Harper and Gordon Cowans were shipped out and Robbo joined Terry Pashley working with the youth squad. More recently he has been the Director of the Centre of Excellence working alongside Jeff Taylor but has now decided to hang up his boots after a long career in the game.

His total service to Burnley is around seventeen years, firstly as a player, then briefly as player/coach in the early seventies and finally the last six years and he has worked for the club in five of the last six decades.

He’ll be best remembered for his part in the team of the early 60s and his goal in the FA Cup Final but hopefully in the next few years we will see positive results from Jimmy’s work with the CofE.

Clarets Mad wish Jimmy a long and happy retirement and I’m sure he’ll be seen around Turf Moor on match days for many years to come.
