It was not the most inspiring of performances from the Clarets who again, as in the previous round against Burton Albion, lost a two goal lead and were forced into extra time.
There were some disappointing performances, with only five of the fourteen players reaching the average score of six in the player ratings, and it was a game where the restored Wade Elliott, along with the two full backs Kieran Trippier and Brian Easton, took top billing.
In a man of the match poll that drew a lower response than usual, it was Easton who came out on top with 23.0% of the vote. Easton, now first choice in his position following the departure of Danny Fox, was playing his third game of the season.
Not far behind was Elliott who, for the most part, had a central role, and scored the second goal which looked to have taken the game beyond Barnet. He polled 21.9% whilst third place went to Kieran Trippier who won an 18.0% share of the vote.
The same three players took the top three positions in the player ratings. This time Elliott was first with a rating of 6.79. The two full backs were close but Trippier just nipped ahead of Easton to take second place with 6.34 whilst Easton's 6.31 out of 10 rating won him third place.
Elliott, the 2007/08 winner, wins five points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year; Easton gets four points and Trippier three points.
For both Elliott and Easton they are their first points of the season whilst the three won by Trippier have extended his lead at the top to six points.
The vote for the Derby game man of the match continues until the end of today and that will be followed by the August Goal of the Month with 12 goals to choose from.
