With Tyrone Mears having signed from Derby we can now expect news very soon that David Edgar is our second Premier League signing with news breaking in the North East that the deal is now done.

Edgar is free to sign for the Clarets from tomorrow and it is expected the Clarets will unveil the 22-year-old Canadian born defender on what is expected to be a four year deal.

The captain of the reserve team at Newcastle he was twice refused permission to join the Clarets on loan last season by his manager Joe Kinnear but now out of contract he's opted to make the move a permanent one after turning down a new deal with the recently relegated club.

Because of his age there will be a fee to pay which is expected to be set by a tribunal.
