Such was the performance that the man of the match recorded its lowest number of votes this season, by far, whilst the player ratings were as low as I can recall since they were introduced.
Edgar, however, won just about everything possible and was an easy winner in both categories. He polled 52.5% of the man of the match vote with no other player reaching double figures. Brian Easton took second place with a 7.7% share and debutant Junior Stanislas, on as a substitute during the second half for Keith Treacy, came third with 6.3% of the vote.
No player scored the average 6 in the player ratings which Edgar won with a rating of 5.63 out of 10. He was the only player to get above a rating of 5 in the incredibly low scoring. Stanislas was second with a rating of 4.76 whilst Edgar's defensive partner Ben Mee came third with 4.65 out of 10.
Added to the ratings from the other games this season, it sees only six players averaging over 6 out of 10. Two of those players, Wade Elliott and Danny Fox, are no longer with the club and Michael Duff is currently injured. The three others who rate above average are Kieran Trippier, Charlie Austin and Ross Wallace.
The result of this game give David Edgar 6 points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year, Stanislas wins three points whilst there are two points for Easton and one for Mee.
Edgar's points take him to fourth in the table, just behind forwards Jay Rodriguez and Charlie Austin with Trippier still six points clear at the top.
The next vote will be for the man of the match at Saturday's game at Peterborough and that will start within an hour of the final whistle.
