The 20-year-old from Salford has been offered a new deal by United but could opt instead for a move to Turf Moor. He's a young player with limited first team experience having made just four first team appearances.

The Clarets could move to bring him in ahead of the trip to America with the squad flying out this Thursday.

In 2007/08 he was nominated for the Manchester United reserve team player of the year and last season finally got his first call up to the first team.

His debut came in the FA Cup win against Portsmouth when he replaced Fabio and since he's made one further FA Cup appearance and two in the Premier League, all as a substitute.

Now his next first team game could be in the claret and blue of Burnley. He's reported to have turned down a new deal at Old Trafford and has also spurned the opportunity to join QPR.
