Chris Eagles - his goal won it for Burnley
Eagles struck in the 50th minute from a free kick after Dean Marney had been fouled on the edge of the box. It continues a great run of scoring form for Eagles whose last goal in the Premier League last season came in November at West Ham.

This is a fourth goal for Eagles in the five pre-season games, the win at Oldham being the only occasion he hasn't found the net.

Although the Singapore side, made up mainly of their under-23 stars, had a couple of chances, it was Burnley who had the best openings and could have won the game more convicingly.

However, there was one last chance for the Singaporians in the very last minute when they went one-on-one with goalkeeper Brian Jensen. Again it was the Clarets goalkeeper who came out on top to ensure we won the game.

Both Michael Duff and Dean Marney had come close in the early stages, but it was Eagles who brought the tour to a successful end and ensured Burnley lifted the FIS Asian Cup before heading home tomorrow to complete their pre-season ahead of the home game against Nottingham Forest.

The teams were;
