Eagles flies into fourth place

Eagles came on for the injured Michael Duff early in the second half. The game was probably gone by then at 2-0 down, with a third not far away, but he was certainly very influential in a left wing role as we took the game to Reading. It was no surprise that he played a major role in our late goal.

It had otherwise been a disappointing performance from the Clarets, and that's why Eagles' second half cameo helped him to both the man of the match award and the highest rating in the player ratings on the message board.

In the man of the match he polled 39.9% of the vote to give him a clear victory over Chris McCann who, despite having a less than successful afternoon, took second place with 17.9% of the vote whilst left back Stephen Jordan came third with 8.2% of the vote.

In the player ratings Eagles was again an easy winner. His rating of 7.57 out of 10 was way ahead of the 6.48 rating won by Graham Alexander who started the game in midfield before reverting to right back following the injury to Duff.

Martin Paterson was the only other player to score an average rating, and it was just that with a rating of exactly six out of ten.

The six points won by Eagles have taken him into fourth place in the Player of the Season table. Both Alexander and McCann scored two points whilst there was one each for Jordan and Paterson.
