Dyer to stay until end of year

Dyer, who enjoyed his first start in Claret & Blue at Leeds, was due to return to St. Mary’s after tomorrow’s game against Crewe, but he’ll now be with us until 28th December which will see him available for the Clarets up to and including the game at Norwich on that date.

That’s another four games in total, starting with the trip to Sheffield United on 10th December. Before that we visit Southampton but they have included a clause in the contract, as Wolves did with Keith Lowe, that prevents him playing against his own club. This is not a rule but a decision that Southampton have taken.

There is one change to the deal, with Nathan now into his second month Southampton have also included an instant recall into the deal and should the injury problems affecting their midfield get any worse it could be that they take him back earlier.

So tomorrow will probably not be his last game for the Clarets, and following his performance at Leeds that is good news.
