Duff is second signing

Duff has joined the Clarets on a three year deal and with a fee of £30,000 becomes the first player to cost the club a transfer fee since the signing of Robbie Blake in January 2002.

He started his career in midfield before moving to full back and then the centre of defence and has gone on to make over 200 Football League appearances for his only club Cheltenham.

It was Steve Cotterill who gave him his first opportunity in the first team at Whaddon Road when Cheltenham were still in the Doctor Marten’s League and he went on to became the first Cheltenham player to represent his country when he was capped by Northern Ireland in February 2002.

Not renowned for his goalscoring he did though score one very important goal, the one that secured Cheltenham a place in the Football League in 1999.

He’s now a Claret and like the manager and first signing John McGreal has joined for three years.
