Duff gets call up

Coyne is expected to play for Wales against England this Saturday in Cardiff and then again in Warsaw next Wednesday where they play Poland.

Duff though hasn’t been involved with the Irish squad since coming on as a substitute in a friendly in August of last year against Switzerland in Zurich and was not in the initial squad for their games against Azerbaijan and England.

However, manager Lawrie Sanchez has sent home the two Cardiff players in his squad, Phil Mulryne and Jeff Whitley for what he describes as a breach of discipline. It is believed the two players returned to their hotel in the early hours of this morning.

Duff is one of three players added to boost the squad, the other two are striker Andy Smith and winger Ivan Sproule of Motherwell and Hibs respectively. The two Irish games will both be played at Windsor Park in Belfast.
