Duff back for reserves

Michael Duff - back in action
Duff is the only member of Steve Cotterill’s side who was unavailable and if he comes through this afternoon we could have a full squad to choose from at Coventry this Saturday.

It looks as though he will play in the centre of defence and he will be alongside Ryan Townsend who was back in action last week when he played in the youth team defeat at Oldham after months out with a stress fracture. This will be Ryan’s second game in five days.

There’s no place for either John Oster or Jean-Louis Valois this week, both played in the defeat at Bury last week and it will be mainly a team of younger players although Mark Yates is back in the side this week.

The team is: Mark Crossley, Joel Pilkington, Michael Duff, Ryan Townsend, Paul Scott, Adam Jones, Joe Booth, Mark Yates, Tom Ince, Alex Taylor, Matt O’Neill. Subs: Michael Hale, Martin Reilly, Nicky Platt, Cayne Hanley, Kyle Lafferty.

Macclesfield are doing well in the league and they were hoping to boost their side with a couple of first team players returning from injury. Manager Brian Horton has decided against it and they will line up:

Steve Wilson, Wayne Cropper, Andy Smart, Joey Jones, Michael Briscoe, Andrew Teague, Steve Brackenridge, Neil Morgan, John Miles, Steve Owens, Mark Boyd. Subs: Marvin McDonald, Isak Reid, Christian Cooke, Rick Bailey, Tim Deasey.
