Dowie goes at QPR

He was given fifteen games as boss, there's nothing like a club that gives a manager time. All they have done is call time and removed him from the job with immediate effect.

It's Dowie's third sacking in just about two years, he was previously dismissed by both Charlton and Coventry, and I'm sure today's news will have widened the smile on Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan's face.

It is this sort of news that makes me very thankful that I support a club whose policy it is to give managers time. That's been the case at Burnley now for a decade and it has stood us in good stead.

Meanwhile Gareth Ainsworth has taken over as caretaker at Loftus Road on a temporary basis.
