Mick Docherty - ends his third spell with the club
First team coach Mick Docherty, reserve team coach Ronnie Jepson and physio Ian Liversedge have now all left Burnley FC, and it appears they all went on Tuesday.

For Doc it is the end of a third spell at Turf Moor. He was captain of the FA Youth Cup Winners in 1968, became the youngest player to captain the Clarets in a League game and left at the end of the 1975/76 season when he was released by manager Joe Brown.

He returned as assistant manager to Frank Casper in 1989 but stayed not much over a year before being poached by new Hull City manager Stan Ternent. His replacement was Jimmy Mullen.

It was Stan who brought him back for a third time six years ago and the plan was for him to work with the youth team. As it turned out he was reserve team coach initially before moving up to the role of first team coach.

Jepson too arrived with Stan in 1998, he was his first signing but he suffered a serious injury early in his Burnley career at Reading. On regaining fitness he was used mainly as a substitute before retiring from the playing side and joining the coaching staff.

Last season saw his reserve team depleted of any experience and ultimately relegated. Jeppo is all set to join Stan when he starts a new job.

Ian Liversedge (Saus) was one of two physios to join the club in the summer of 1999 following the departure of former Manchester City player Paul Lake. Nicky Reid has already left the club, around two months ago apparently, and now Saus departs as well. He is joining Accrington Stanley.

That leaves just Terry Pashley, youth team coach, on the staff and we await news over the next two to three weeks as to who Steve Cotterill will be bringing in to work with him.
