Division One - No changes at top or bottom

John Oster - late winner for Grimsby
Wins for Portsmouth and Leicester now see them so far ahead of third place Sheffield United it is looking almost certain that they will be playing Premiership football next season.

Leicester, for the second time against the Clarets this season, looked anything but Premiership material but they remain just five points behind Portsmouth who will surely win the league.

Only Reading in the next four were beaten, they lost 3-1 at Ipswich in what was probably the best game of the week. This results sees the Tractor Boys go seventh and just three points behind Wolves who could only pick up a point in a goalless draw at home to Stoke.

Sheffield United picked up another win with a 2-1 home win against Brighton whilst Forest enjoyed an easy 3-0 win in their East Midlands derby against John Gregory's struggling Derby County.

Brighton were in fact the only one of the bottom four to lose. Stoke picked up that point at Wolves and a late Tony Crane goal gave Sheffield Wednesday a point at Bradford in a 1-1 draw.

But Grimsby took the Performance of the Week award with a 1-0 win at Rotherham. It was stoppage time when the winner came, scored by John Oster now enjoying a second loan spell at his first club from Sunderland.

That leaves four other games and the biggest win of the week came at Deepdale in front of just over 11,000. They beat Walsall 5-0 with South African international George Koumantarakis.

Franchise played in front of a bigger crowd at Selhurst Park than they have all season. There was an attendance of 13,713 but don't worry Koppel hasn't suddenly made some money, they were playing away to their landlords Crystal Palace. They did though win the game 1-0.

That left Norwich to win 2-0 at Millwall with goals from Malky Mackay and Zema Abbey and Gillingham to do what we couldn't do and win at Watford. Former Burnley loan player Paul Shaw was the only scorer in that game.

There's a full fixture list on Saturday and four games re-arranged games next Tuesday. All the Saturday games kick off at 3:00 p.m. and the Tuesday games are all 7:45 p.m. kick off.
