Disappointing night for Kyle

Scotland went out of the European Championships on Saturday, England suffered at the hands of Croatia tonight, and Northern Ireland's 1-0 defeat to Spain ended their slim hopes of qualifying meaning there will be no British representation in Austria and Switzerland next summer.

Having missed Saturday's win against Denmark, Kyle had to settle for a place on the bench but he came on for West Brom's Chris Brunt just before the hour with the Spaniards having gone in front seven minutes into the second half.

He wasn't able to turn the game round in Northern Ireland's favour and didn't get any opportunities in front of goal. He was though yellow carded for a foul on Tamudo with fourteen minutes to go, the only foul he commited.

Joey Gudjonsson didn't feature in Iceland's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Denmark leaving Kyle as the only Claret in international action tonight.
