John Oster - called up by John Toshack
John Oster was one of eight players released on Monday but he’s been called into John Toshack’s Welsh squad for a get together in Spain in next week. He will join up with goalkeeper Danny Coyne whilst former loan player Richard Duffy is also in the squad of 22 players.

Ryan Townsend, who made just one first team appearance for the Clarets, has won a place in the Australian Under-20 squad for next month’s World Youth Championships after impressing in a recent training camp.

He will travel to South Korea with the squad at the end of this month where they will play three matches in Busan against Columbia, South Korea and Morocco before travelling to Holland for the tournament. There the Australians will play against Benin, host country Holland and Japan.

Townsend will be joined by a number of other English based players in the Socceroo’s squad selected by coach Ange Posecoglou. They are Adam Federici (Reading), Trent McClenahan (West Ham), Aaron Downes (Chesterfield), Ruben Zadkovich (Notts County), James Wesolowski (Leicester) and Shane Huke (Peterborough).
