Defenders were on top at Loftus Road

Michael Duff
Duff played in the left central defensive position in the absence of captain Steven Caldwell through suspension and was without doubt one of our best performers on the day.

His performance won him 26.3% of the votes in the man of the match poll and that was enough to see him top the poll ahead of Wade Elliott who collected 18.8% of the vote. Duff's central defensive partner Clarke Carlisle came third with 12.6%.

The two central defenders were both in the top two in the player ratings. Again Duff was the winner with a rating of 8.14 out of 10 and that was a long way ahead of Carlisle who came second with a rating of 7.29. Brian Jensen, who had an easier afternoon than the one he had at Doncaster, was third with a rating of 6.79.

Duff wins six points, there are three for Carlisle whilst Elliott collects two points and Jensen one. The points have made little difference to the Player of the Season table although that solitary point for Jensen has taken joint fourth with Caldwell.

Voting is still underway for the Carling Cup tie against Spurs and will end tomorrow night, the poll can be found down the right hand side of the site's front page.
