He had a decent enough game back in Feb, apart from possibly he could have conjured up a dubious penalty in our favour and taking stronger and earlier action against Lily in the opposition midfield.
Overall we haven’t had problems with him in the past although Bradford City’s then manager Nicky Law would disagree after our 2-2 draw there in 2002 which saw two Bradford players sent off.
Dean used to have a reputation for going over the top with his cards but that hasn’t been the case in the last couple of years and again this season it has been a similar pattern, only five yellow cards in his last game between Arsenal and
Amazingly, and it is us who need to be the more careful, eleven of those yellow cards have been awarded to home team players and only four to away team players. We could do with a change there.
Overall this is not an appointment that we should be worried about, and there has been nothing suggesting any criticism of him since he returned form suspension.
